Dear (hopefully) Soon to be Loyal Readers,
Thanks for taking this journey with me to Washington, D.C. This will actually be my first time ever stepping foot in our nation's capital. I am already extremely excited and somewhat overwhelmed. Anyway, I will be participating in the University of Georgia's Washington Semester Program. My internship will officially run from January 10, 2011 to April 22, 2011, and I will be working in the Office of Congressman John Lewis. If you want the amusing details of my first conversation with their office, stay tuned for the next post!
I am a little unsure of exactly what this blog will turn into. I expect it to mainly be a chronicle of the things that I see and in which I am able to participate. If frustration runs rampant, then perhaps this blog will serve as an outlet for venting. Hopefully this will be an adequate way to keep all of my friends informed of my experiences, and my sincere hope is to not be too separated from them. I can guarantee that I will miss nothing more in Washington than my family and friends. Then again, public service does require sacrifices, and I've chosen to make them. May you all have a wonderful spring semester.
